The workshop for media is a half-day online event held in Romanian. Its purpose is to acknowledge and educate the media representatives for the basic principles of developing clinical studies.
There is an increasing need for enrolling patients into clinical trials testing the most innovative discovered molecules which might solve some urgent health issues. The best example is what is happening nowadays when only by the development of clinical trials it has been found a solution to solve the crisis brought by COVID-19 pandemic – the vaccine against Sar-Cov2.
The journalists are the most indicated vectors for the right information of the population. Therefore, they should be very well informed and educated upon this subject.
By attending this event, the journalists will get a proper understanding of the clinical research, and they will be able to cover the lack of knowledge on this subject of the general public, helping patients to be more confident into their chance for life through the novel medication research.
This webinar is for journalists and other persons interested to learn more about clinical research and the benefit of developing clinical trials for patients, and who want to get updated and correct information from trusted and professional sources.
The event is organized by AVANTYO Institute of Clinical Research in partnership with the Institute for Development in Health and Education.

Rozalina Lapadatu is an activist, a professional advocating for social change and civic responsibility, and the founder of A.P.A.A. - www.apaa.ro.
With more than 20 years’ experience in pharma, governmental and private health, CSR and NGO work she gained a unique expertise, a different point of view. Rozalina's approach, innovative and committed to social change was awarded and recognized as such: Woman of the Year 2013 for Initiative in People Support (Bucharest), Golden PR Award 2013 (Bucharest), Digital Communication Award 2013 (Berlin), Silver PR Award 2014 (Bucharest) and Vox Patientis Award 2014 (Bucharest). She is a Stanford University trainer for "Self-management in arthritis and fibromyalgia course" in Romania and European Patient's Academy on Therapeutic Innovations Alumni.
About A.P.A.A. Autoimmune Diseases Patient Association was founded for the benefit of Romanian patients initially, going into international partnerships later on and becoming one of the outstanding voices in supporting patients with autoimmune diseases A.P.A.A. in Romania and Europe. APAA is part of different national and international organizations: Alianta Pacientilor Cronici din Romania (APCR), International Alliance of Patients’ Organizations (IAPO), Platform of organizations of people with Rheumatic Diseases in Southern Europe (AGORA), Rare Disease Europe (EURORDIS), and EUPATI Romanian National Platform
Gabriel Buiculescu is a Graduate of the University of International Economic Relations within ASE Bucharest Romania, with the speciality International Affairs, at the moment developing and leading a digital marketing project with global impact within a multinational company.
He is a 38-year-old patient diagnosed with stage IIIA melanoma in November 2017.
From February 2018 until January 2019, he was included in the Checkmate 915 clinical trial at the “Saint Nectarie” Oncology Center in Craiova.
Gabriel Buiculescu is acting as a patient advocate for melanoma patients.
- Dr. Florescu Moraid got her Medical Doctor Diploma in 1998 from „Carol Davila” University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Bucharest, Romania and was accredited as Laboratory Medicine Specialist in 2005 and as Senior Laboratory Medicine Specialist in 2011, by the Romanian College of Physicians.
- She got her Master of Science Diploma in 2006 , accomplished Postgraduated School of Clinical Trials Management, Gdansk in 2012 and the Postgraduated Leadership Development Programme at University of Sussex, UK in 2014.
- Dr. Florescu Moraid was responsible for clinical trials operations at Synevo Central Lab, the clinical research wing of Swedish Medicover Group as Regional Director for Romania, Moldova, Bulgaria and Serbia between 2005-2018. She has been organizing Synevo Clinical Trials Symposium for 10 years.
- Since beginning of 2019, she is Co-founder of Avantyo - Institute of Clinical Research and CEO of Camina Medical Experts, developing tailored CT services for pharma sponsors, CROs and mid-size biotech companies.
- She is invited speaker for different scientific events and acts as active advocate for rising awareness over the importance of developing clinical trials for the patient’s benefit.
