Delia Codruta Popa Primary physician in Laboratory medicine and coordinator of the Hematological Analysis laboratory ,Fundeni Clinical Institute, Bucharest

Dr Delia Codruța Popa earned her Doctor of Medicine degree in 2015 from the Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Bucharest, with a doctoral thesis entitled Evaluation of circulating HCV genotypes in Romania. She is a Primary Physician in Laboratory Medicine and the Coordinator of the Haematological Analysis Laboratory at the Fundeni Clinical Institute in Bucharest. She also serves as Head of Work at the Department of Biochemistry of the Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy.

Her academic and research activity includes participation in a wide range of national and European programmes. These include CEEX 158/2006 (2006–2008), investigating molecular mechanisms within the HCV genome; the SUNFLOWER project (2008–2010) under the European Commission Public Health Programme, focused on innovative HIV prevention strategies for young people; and the H-CUBE project (2009–2011), addressing HBV, HCV, and HIV as major public health challenges for European youth. She also contributed to PNII‑PD23/2011 (2011–2013), evaluating hepatic transcription factor expression in hepatocarcinoma, and PNII‑PCE 125/2011 (2011–2016), studying molecular predictors of prognosis following curative treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma.

Her more recent work includes serving as Project Director for the PNIII Mobility Project (2017) and contributing to the HEPATER management training programme (2018–2022), supporting Romanian medical personnel caring for patients chronically infected with hepatitis B and C viruses. Dr Popa is the author or co‑author of 16 ISI‑indexed articles and more than 60 scientific papers presented at national and international conferences.

Theodora Savlovschi Wicks Founder and Managing Director of Vivexa Partners

Theodora Savlovschi Wicks is the Founder and Managing Director of Vivexa Partners, a purpose?driven recruitment and talent advisory firm specialising in the global life sciences sector. She brings over a decade of experience across clinical research, CRO partnerships, talent strategy, and business development, supporting organisations ranging from pioneering biotech start?ups to established pharmaceutical leaders. Her work focuses on building values?driven teams and strengthening the talent foundations that enable scientific innovation.

Before establishing Vivexa Partners, Theodora spent more than eleven years at Proclinical Group, where she held successive leadership roles including Vice President, Global Client Services; Senior Director, Global Client Services for CROs; Client Services Director; and Client Services Manager. In these positions, she worked closely with sponsors, CROs, biotech, and pharmaceutical organisations across Europe and internationally, developing strategic partnerships, overseeing global delivery operations, and supporting recruitment pipelines across multiple regions. Her earlier career included multilingual consultancy roles within Proclinical’s European clinical recruitment teams.

Alongside her leadership work, Theodora is an active advocate for people?centred leadership, ethical hiring practices, and meaningful career development within the life sciences sector. She volunteers in Marketing and Communications for the Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association and is a strong proponent of authentic networking, mentorship, and building more human?led professional relationships across the industry.

Cristina Florescu Moraid President of Clinical Trials Symposium, CEO Avantyo Institute of Clinical Research

Dr Florescu Moraid earned her Medical Doctor degree in 1998 from the Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Bucharest. She was accredited as a Laboratory Medicine Specialist in 2005 and as a Senior Laboratory Medicine Specialist in 2011 by the Romanian College of Physicians.

She completed a Master of Science degree in 2006, the Postgraduate School of Clinical Trials Management in Gdańsk in 2012, and the Postgraduate Leadership Development Programme at the University of Sussex in 2014.

Between 2005 and 2018, Dr Florescu Moraid led clinical trial operations at Synevo Central Lab, the clinical research division of the Swedish Medicover Group, serving as Regional Director for Romania, Moldova, Bulgaria, and Serbia. During this period, she also organised the Synevo Clinical Trials Symposium for ten consecutive years.

Since 2019, she has been the Co-founder of Avantyo - Institute of Clinical Research and the CEO of Camina Medical Experts, providing tailored clinical trial services to pharmaceutical sponsors, CROs, and mid-sized biotech companies.

She is a frequent invited speaker at scientific meetings and a committed advocate for strengthening awareness of the value of clinical trials for patients.
